Hi Reader The Art of a Healthy, Happy, Creative Career: Featuring Puno Selesho |
Building a meaningful creative career is tough. Every profession has its own challenges and opportunities, but becoming a pro in the creative world demands patience, resilience, and resourcefulness. The challenge arises when creatives aim to make a meaningful impact while also earning a living. There's something inspiring about the creative spirit; it believes in a better tomorrow and that sincere creative effort can bring positive change. However, this journey can be exhausting and disheartening. In fact, recent studies have shown that creatives in our industry have higher rates of depression, anxiety, and more serious disorders. Mastering the art of building a well-balanced career that prioritises a happy and healthy life is crucial for professional creators. That's why it was a privilege to interview Puno Selesho, a poet, performer, and entrepreneur, who has built a colourful creative career herself. Puno specialises in spoken word, has a decade's worth of stories and poems for personal and public spaces, and is an accomplished entrepreneur, making a meaningful impact through various ventures. She's also a catalyst for transformation on both societal and individual levels. I met Puno three years ago over coffee and recently at TEDxPretoria. We've stayed in touch, discussing common areas of interest like communication, branding, storytelling, and creativity. Puno shares her insights and experiences about the creative life and how to thrive as a professional maker. Watch the interview below, and subscribe to the channel for more nuggets of wisdom from Puno throughout the week. Here's to a healthier, happier, and more wholesomely creative you. Thanks for reading (and watching). You’ve got this. |
